Mahima is a rising M4 at the Carle Illinois College of Medicine, the world's first engineering-based medical school. She received her Bachelor's in Molecular Biology and Chemistry at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her Master's in Bioengineering at UCSF. Prior to starting medical school, she worked as a cancer clinical trials project manager at Stanford University where she partnered with members in industry, academia, and governmental agencies on device and drug clinical trials focused on the early detection and diagnosis of cancer. In medical school, she started her own medical device startup company called CAPSLocks, a first-of-its-kind compact, lightweight, ergonomic and affordable scalp cooling system that prevents chemotherapy-induced hair loss in cancer patients. She is passionate about working at the intersection of medicine and technology and bridging healthcare gaps using innovation and entrepreneurship. Outside of medicine, Mahima loves to paint, do origami, and talk about anything Formula One related!
