Sherman Leung

Founder & Co-Chair

Sherman started MD+ initially in 2020 by organizing local meet-ups of non-traditional medical students in NYC. Through similar conversations with many peers, he saw a clear gap shared across medical schools for all aspiring physician-innovators. MD+ emerged as a community aggregating the collective social capital, wisdom, and energy of medical students and recent physician graduates who were actively exploring both clinical interests and our broader systems-oriented interests in healthcare innovation.

Sherman is currently a rising MS4 at the Icahn School of Mt Sinai. Outside of medical school, he supports early-stage healthcare investments and incubations at AlleyCorp's physician-led healthcare fund. Before medical school, Sherman worked as a digital health product manager, an enterprise technology investor, and software engineer. He holds degrees in Computer Science and Management Science & Engineering from Stanford University, and is passionate about enabling next generation of physician-innovators to build a more efficient, accessible, and equitable healthcare system.
